Visit
- Tiki Village, Dinner, and Show – this is a great evening’s entertainment. While the food is local and good, the reason to go is for the dancing. This is the best dancing you will see on the islands.
- Rent a car for the day to drive around the island looking for waterfalls to hike to, they are marked, great beaches, and snorkeling areas. Driving is also a great way to visit some of the smaller shops with handmade crafts to purchase.
- The Belvedere – a great lookout of both bays, Cooks Bay and Opunohu Bay.
- Dr. Poole’s Dolphin and Whale Watching Adventure – Join Dr. Poole on going out to see the Dolphins and Whales in their natural environment and learn all about marine life and the islands.
- 4×4 safari
- Golf – Yep brand new 18-hole course and it is on the mountain and the plain. The pricing is also very good. Book early as they fill up quickly particularly on the weekends.
- Spas: All of the main resorts have spas and each is lovely – Book early for specialty or couples massages
Restaurants:
Call to make reservations at all restaurants in advance. This will allow the restaurants to arrange transportation for you, most times at no or small cost.
- Allo Pizza – a great place to have a great pizza while watching all the local folks come in and out. Small place with big hearts and great pizzas! Try the dessert pizza after a regular pizza or after a great meal at one of the other restaurants.
- Restaurant Te Honu Iti – chef Roger is one of the best on Moorea. Dine over the water and watch the rays come into the lights toward the end of your meal.
- Hotel Restaurant Hibiscus – a huge menu with great food. This is a relaxed and less expensive place for just one of those great relaxed and yet fantastic evenings.
- Restaurant Mahogany – Lovely food and great outdoor / indoor ambiance. Great seafood.
- Rubys – While I haven’t personally eaten here it is getting great reviews for steak and seafood by my clients.
Snorkeling:
- Many Resorts have great snorkeling right off the bungalows.
- Temae – Great place to see conger eels. Access is by boat.
- Beaches away from the more populated areas of the island
