Where can you go in the South Pacific?

September 4, 2020

We are still here! Been quiet on the Blog and Newsletter scene!

I am back now, with the news that there is only one country or island group in the South Pacific that is open to travel:

French Polynesia or otherwise known as Tahiti.

Tahiti has been open to tourists since July 15, 2020.

If you wish to travel to the islands you must:

  1. Take a very specific COVID-19 test within three days prior to departure.
  2. Once you have your results and they are negative, you must fill in an online form with the French Polynesian government.
  3. You should have a travel insurance policy, but you can also take on all responsibility for costs should you become positive for COVID-19 while in country. If you do become positive in the country you will be immediately taken to Papeete, Tahiti where they have a quarantine and medical facility.
  4. On the fourth day of being in the islands you will self-administer another test for COVID-19 and turn it in to the local authorities.

Yes, there are new requirements, but the experience in the islands gives you a wonderful experience.

Enjoy the holiday weekend!
