French Polynesia Has Closed to Tourism

Hello all, since yesterday French Polynesia has closed its borders to travelers for tourism.

To be clear this is a directive from France and French Polynesia is a French Territory. The directive is to protect the people of French Polynesia from not only COVID-19 but also the variants that are now growing in Europe.

At this time the closure will be from 2 to 3 months. The determination of the length of the closure will be made by the French Government.

At this time, Tuesday – February 9, 2021 will be the last flight from Papeete, Tahiti to San Francisco for United Airlines until the country reopens.
